Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Juvenile Probation Officer to join our team. This role involves supervising young offenders, providing guidance, and collaborating with families and external agencies to promote rehabilitation and minimize recidivism.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor the welfare of assigned juvenile offenders.
  • Implement rehabilitation plans tailored to the individual needs of offenders.
  • Facilitate discussions and workshops aimed at behavioural change.
  • Support families through counselling sessions and educational resources.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for court hearings.
  • Collaborate with community services to provide additional support to young offenders.
  • Conduct regular evaluations to measure the effectiveness of rehabilitation strategies.
  • Educate offenders about the consequences of their actions and the benefits of rehabilitation.
  • Encourage positive behaviours through incentives and consistent feedback.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification in Youth Justice is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience working with youth, preferably in a corrective setting
