Job Description

Seeking a skilled Pot Fisher who can operate fishing vessels effectively while managing the capture of fish using traps. Ideal candidates will have significant experience and a strong understanding of fishing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead fishing expeditions and manage crew members.
• Implement effective strategies to maximise catch rates.
• Ensure all fishing pots are properly maintained and effective.
• Adjust operations based on real-time weather forecasts.
• Execute the selection, sorting, and preservation of fish.
• Uphold strict adherence to sustainable fishing standards.
• Maintain safety equipment and ensure proper usage.
• Compile and report catch data to management.
• Engage in teamwork for enhanced productivity.
• Perform all necessary boat maintenance tasks.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Master up to 24 meters Near Coastal)
• Additional certifications in boat handling are preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years in the fishing industry with an emphasis on using pots or traps

Languages
