Correctional Officer

Job Description

We are looking for committed Correctional Officers to join our Sydney team. Your primary role will involve ensuring the safety and security of inmates while enforcing facility rules. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills and a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order within the facility.
• Cultivate a secure environment by monitoring inmate movements.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the premises.
• Assist with the organization of inmate programs and activities.
• Ensure documentation of inmate behaviour and incidents is accurate.
• Contribute to team discussions on safety and operational improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Public Safety or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in a high-pressure environment preferred

Technical Skills

• Emergency Response

Soft Skills

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Mental Health First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Bilingual candidates preferred: Fluency in additional languages will be considered an asset.
• Previous experience with community programs: Experience in facilitation of programs designed for inmate rehabilitation.
