SCADA Operator (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Operator)

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled SCADA Operator to join our dynamic operations team. In this role, you will monitor and control critical industrial processes, specifically focusing on water and wastewater systems. This involves analysing data, identifying anomalies, and troubleshooting issues to ensure that our operations run efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Use SCADA software to maintain oversight of industrial processes.
• Create troubleshooting workflows for common operational issues.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of system processes.
• Maintain inventory and control of SCADA equipment and parts.
• Assist in developing training materials regarding SCADA best practices.
• Work on shift assignments to ensure 24/7 monitoring is maintained.
• Engage in regular software and hardware updates and maintenance.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Diploma in Electrical or Automation Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in SCADA operations

Technical Skills

• Data analysis

• Communication skills

Certifications

• Relevant SCADA system training or certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus and DNP3: Knowledge of commonly used industrial protocols for communication.
• Experience in the energy or utility sector: Previous experience in the utilities sector, especially water treatment.
