Job Description

As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will be responsible for monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms of patients in a vibrant hospital environment. You will play a critical role in alerting the medical team of any changes in patients' conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain cardiac monitoring equipment and electronic health record systems.
  • Provide continuous monitoring of patients with cardiac conditions.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on medical equipment used in cardiac monitoring.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to cardiac care.
  • Support the cardiology team with stress tests and Holter monitoring.
  • Work alongside nurses and doctors to ensure patient comfort and address any concerns.

Requirements

Education
  • Certificate IV in Cardiac Technology or equivalent
  • Current registration with AHPRA
Experience
  • 1-2 years in cardiac monitoring with experience in pediatric or neonatal patients advantageous
Technical Skills
  • Holter monitors
  • Telemetry data interpretation
Soft Skills

Certifications
  • BLS certification
  • ALS certification
Languages
  • English: Fluent

  • Experience in using telemetry systems: Ability to interpret telemetry data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Knowledge of cardiac emergencies: Preparedness and ability to act in high-pressure situations.
