Job Description

We are seeking a Log Sorter to work in our forestry operations. The primary responsibility will be sorting and preparing logs for transport and processing, ensuring quality control and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Grade logs based on set criteria to meet processing requirements.
• Identify and report any defects or issues with logs.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
• Support other team members as required on sorting operations.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss productivity and challenges.

Requirements

Education

• No formal qualifications required
• Training in forestry operations or heavy machinery operations is advantageous

Experience

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.

Technical Skills

• Ability to work outdoors
• Machinery operation

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Teamwork

Advantageous

• Experience operating heavy machinery: Previous experience in operating equipment used in logging operations is an asset.
• Knowledge of forestry operations: Understanding of timber processing and sustainable practices is beneficial.
