Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Psychologist to join our Mackay team, responsible for delivering high-quality psychological assessments and therapeutic services. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to supporting individuals dealing with mental health issues and will be equipped with strong therapeutic skills to help clients achieve their personal goals.

Responsibilities

• Identify and address mental health concerns through comprehensive evaluations.
• Implement structured therapeutic approaches and document client progress.
• Develop a supportive environment to promote client comfort and trust.
• Educate clients on mental health topics and available resources.
• Collaborate with external agencies for comprehensive care planning.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical practices.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior psychological staff.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Clinical Psychology
• PhD in Clinical Psychology is highly desirable

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Trauma-informed care
• Group therapy techniques

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal skills
• Stress management

Certifications

• AHPRA Registration
• Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Training in mindfulness and stress management: Experience in teaching mindfulness techniques and stress reduction strategies.
• Crisis intervention skills: Experience in handling crisis situations effectively.
