Job Description

The Prep Cook is responsible for the preparation of ingredients and basic cooking tasks in a restaurant or food service establishment. We are looking for someone who has a passion for cooking and is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cut raw ingredients as per quality standards.
  • Assist in cooking and assembling menu items.
  • Organize workstations and keep them tidy.
  • Monitor food stock levels and replenish as necessary.
  • Adhere to recipes and maintain food quality.
  • Support general kitchen operations during busy periods.

Requirements

Education
  • Certificate II in Kitchen Operations or equivalent
  • Food safety certification
Experience
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen is preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to follow recipes and portion sizes
Soft Skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Attention to detail

Advantageous

  • Prior experience in a hospitality or food service role: Experience in customer-facing food services is a plus.
  • Passion for the culinary arts: A keen interest in cooking and learning kitchen processes.
