We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our team in Ballarat. In this role, you will provide high-quality care for patients experiencing mental health challenges, contributing to their recovery and wellbeing. Your responsibilities will range from conducting assessments and developing care plans to providing therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments and documentation for each patient.
• Create and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Monitor food and medication intake, adapting plans as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support.
• Offer education and resources for self-care and ongoing management.
• Record patient progress and communicate effectively with the care team.
• Facilitate support groups for patients and their families.
• Stay informed on legislation and best practices in mental health care.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Nursing
• Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing is an advantage

Experience

• 2+ years within a clinical mental health environment

Technical Skills

• Patient care planning
• Medication management

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
