Job Description

As a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (VRT), your role will be pivotal in providing specialised support to individuals with visual impairments. Collaborating with medical experts, you will assess clients' specific needs, develop and implement personalised treatment plans, and utilise adaptive devices to enhance their functional abilities. Responsibilities

  • Identify individual client needs through thorough assessments and interviews.
  • Develop and implement effective therapy plans that facilitate independence.
  • Train clients and their families on using assistive technologies.
  • Collaborate with a team to provide integrated care and support.
  • Document and monitor the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs.
  • Deliver educational sessions on vision impairment to community groups.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance practice.
  • Advocate for client access to necessary resources and services.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Therapy or a related field
  • Master's degree is preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience in vision rehabilitation
Technical Skills
  • Experience with low vision aids
  • Expertise in mobility training
Soft Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
Certifications
  • Registered Vision Rehabilitation Therapist
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications
Languages
  • English: Fluent
