Remote Sensing Technician

Job Description

As a Remote Sensing Technician, you'll be responsible for operating UAVs and capturing vital data for various projects including mapping and environmental monitoring. We're seeking individuals with strong technical skills and a passion for aviation.

Responsibilities

• Pilot UAVs to gather relevant data for various industries including agriculture and construction.
• Conduct inspections of UAVs before and after each flight for safety.
• Analyze data sets collected and present findings to stakeholders.
• Ensure flights are conducted in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain detailed logs of UAV activity and maintenance work.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize flight efficiency.
• Stay updated on advancements in UAV technologies and regulations.
• Participate in regular safety drills and training sessions.
• Contribute to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant qualification in Environmental Science or Geography is desirable
• Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) or Private Pilot Licence (PPL) is an asset

Experience

• Experience in GIS or environmental monitoring preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Familiarity with aerial photography and videography: Experience in producing high-quality aerial photos and videos.
