Job Description

We're looking for dedicated individuals to fill the positions of Railroad Brake, Signal, and Switch Operators and Locomotive Firers. This role is essential to our railway operations, focusing on facilitating the safe transport of passengers and goods through skilled oversight and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Operate switches and derails to facilitate the movement of trains in the yard.
  • Inspect tracks, switches, and related equipment for any signs of damage or malfunction.
  • Control signals and coordinate with train drivers to ensure proper routing.
  • Maintain accurate records of switch positions and train movements.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of switches, tracks, and related equipment.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations at all times.
  • Monitor train movements and respond to emergencies as required.
  • Work collaboratively with train drivers and maintenance personnel to ensure operational safety.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and drills to enhance preparedness.
  • Assist in training new employees and providing guidance on procedures.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant technical qualifications are advantageous.
Experience
  • Prior experience as a Railroad Switchman or in a similar role is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of railroad operations and safety procedures
  • Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions
Soft Skills

Languages
  • English: Fluent
