Job Description

Join our mining team as a Dinkey Locomotive Operator, where you will be responsible for safely transporting materials and personnel underground. The role demands a proactive approach to safety and communication, ensuring effective collaboration with site personnel.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dinkey locomotives within designated safety protocols.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on locomotives.
• Ensure proper speed and braking for safe locomotive operation.
• Maintain communication with dispatchers regarding scheduling.
• Assist with the coordination of train movements and transport logistics.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
• Document operational activities and report any issues to management.
• Foster a culture of safety and teamwork within the mining team.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Underground Coal Mining Operations

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating heavy machinery in an underground mining environment.

• Current Underground Coal Board Medical

• Maintenance Skills: Knowledgeable in the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery.
• Remote Location Experience: Experience working in remote mining locations or confined spaces.
