Production Worker - Turner

Job Description

As a Turner at ABC Engineering, you will be responsible for operating lathe machines to cut, shape, and finish metal or plastic materials according to specifications. This role requires precision in measurement and an understanding of engineering drawings and blueprints. We're looking for someone with a knack for problem-solving and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities

• Set up turning equipment and carry out production runs.
• Read and interpret detailed engineering plans and specifications.
• Verify the accuracy of machined components against given tolerances.
• Maintain logs of production output and machine usage.
• Assist with inventory control and material management.
• Conduct tests on finished products for functionality and quality.
• Suggest process improvements for efficiency and safety.
• Participate in safety training and comply with workplace regulations.
• Engage in team meetings to discuss project updates and challenges.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of a related trade course is preferred
• Formal qualification in Engineering or equivalent is advantageous

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience as a Turner or in a similar manufacturing environment
