Job Description

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Accountant to join our team in Coffs Harbour. The successful candidate will handle a variety of accounting tasks including preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and advising clients on financial decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of financial reports and analyses.
• Coordinate financial audits and provide documentation as needed.
• Prepare tax schedules and work with tax professionals.
• Monitor cash flow and manage investments effectively.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including banks and auditors.
• Develop strategies for upcoming financial changes and initiatives.
• Assist with M&A activities and due diligence processes.
• Provide training and support for junior accountants.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct market analysis to inform financial decisions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

• CGMA Chartered Global Management Accountant

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with MYOB or Xero: Experience in using MYOB or Xero for accounting purposes.
• Knowledge of GST and BAS reporting: Understanding of Goods and Services Tax and Business Activity Statements.
