Tax Consultant

Job Description

Come onboard as a Tax Consultant and work closely with clients in Mackay to navigate their tax responsibilities efficiently. You will play a critical role in preparing complex tax documents, advising clients on tax strategies, and staying current with changes in legislation. We're searching for a proactive consultant with a knack for numbers and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax assessments and recommend strategies for tax relief.
• File tax documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Set up and maintain client tax files efficiently.
• Optimize client tax situations by creating strategic plans.
• Communicate with the ATO on behalf of clients when required.
• Prepare reports documenting tax strategies and compliance.
• Engage in client meetings to discuss tax options and strategies.
• Continuously improve knowledge of current tax regulations.
• Manage a portfolio of clients to provide high-quality tax services.
• Support the development of tax software tools for client use.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Taxation, Finance or Accounting
• Postgraduate qualifications in Taxation is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of proven experience in a taxation role
