Job Description

The Agricultural Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the welfare and health of livestock. You will conduct inspections, provide guidance on animal welfare regulations, and collaborate with stakeholders in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Inspect livestock facilities and premises for compliance with animal welfare laws.
• Conduct investigations and inspections based on public or stakeholder concerns.
• Educate stakeholders on animal welfare standards and best practices.
• Write detailed reports and maintain accurate records of findings.
• Provide expert testimony in legal matters concerning animal welfare.
• Work closely with other agencies to ensure coordinated animal welfare responses.
• Promote proactive engagement with farmers and industry groups.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Agriculture or Animal Science
• Further qualifications in livestock management are preferred

Experience

• Experience in conducting inspections and providing guidance in the livestock sector
