Job Description
The Agricultural Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the welfare and health of livestock. You will conduct inspections, provide guidance on animal welfare regulations, and collaborate with stakeholders in the industry.
Responsibilities
Inspect livestock facilities and premises for compliance with animal welfare laws.
Conduct investigations and inspections based on public or stakeholder concerns.
Educate stakeholders on animal welfare standards and best practices.
Write detailed reports and maintain accurate records of findings.
Provide expert testimony in legal matters concerning animal welfare.
Work closely with other agencies to ensure coordinated animal welfare responses.
Promote proactive engagement with farmers and industry groups.
Requirements
Education
Degree in Agriculture or Animal Science
Further qualifications in livestock management are preferred
Experience
