Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lobster Fisherman to join our crew in Port Lincoln. You will play a fundamental role in capturing high-quality lobsters and maintaining our fishing gear in top-notch condition. Responsibilities

  • Utilize appropriate fishing gear for lobster collection.
  • Conduct regular checks and repairs on fishing nets and traps.
  • Ensure safe navigation of the vessel.
  • Follow all local and federal fishing regulations.
  • Adjust catch methods based on weather and water conditions.
  • Document the daily catch and related data for reporting.
  • Work ineffectively with other fishermen to maximise efficiency.
  • Clean and maintain the vessel’s internal and external areas.
  • Help with routine inspections of equipment and vessels.
  • Assist in managing inventory of fishing gear and supplies.

Requirements

Education
  • Marine Biology or related field preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a commercial Lobster Fisherman

Certifications
  • Fishing Master Class 5 Certificate
