Job Description

Join our construction team as a Hand Rigger, where you will lift and move heavy loads while maintaining strict safety protocols. Your role is essential in coordinating the movement of materials and equipment on-site, ensuring a streamlined workflow.

Responsibilities

• Set up and dismantle rigging systems for various lifting operations.
• Monitor the condition of rigging gear and request replacements when necessary.
• Provide clear instructions to team members regarding safety protocols.
• Assist in the training of new riggers and labourers on equipment use.
• Conduct risk assessments prior to lifting operations.
• Ensure that loads are secured correctly before lift-off.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely execution of tasks.
• Document and report all incidents or near misses as required.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate IV in Rigging (desirable)
• Relevant safety certifications

Experience

• 3 years' experience as a rigging technician in the construction industry

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of load dynamics: Understanding how different loads affect rigging setups.
