Lay Up Technician

Job Description

As a Lay Up Technician, you will be responsible for manufacturing composite components using precision lay-up techniques. Your role includes operating various hand tools and moulds while performing thorough quality checks on the finished products to ensure that they meet the high industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position layers of composite materials in moulds.
• Utilize various hand tools and equipment with proficiency.
• Conduct quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
• Document production activities and maintain log sheets.
• Work collaboratively with quality assurance teams.
• Support continuous improvement efforts within the production team.
• Train new staff on equipment usage and safety standards.
• Engage in health and safety training sessions.
• Assist in inventory management and material sourcing.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Composite Manufacturing or equivalent

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in composite manufacturing or related field

Technical Skills

• Understanding of Composite Manufacturing Processes
• Experience with Vacuum Bagging
• Lean Manufacturing Principles

Soft Skills

• Time Management

Certifications

• Current Forklift License
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Robotic Lay-Up Systems: Hands-on experience using robotic systems in lay-up processes is desirable.
• Experience with CNC Machines: Familiarity with CNC machinery will be an added advantage.
