Job Description

We're on the lookout for a skilled Boat Builder to join our crew in the heart of Sydney. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in constructing and repairing boats, with a solid understanding of various materials such as timber and fiberglass.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools to shape and assemble boat components.
• Install mechanical and electrical systems in new builds.
• Perform quality checks during the construction and repair processes.
• Assist in the design process to improve functionality and aesthetics.
• Provide recommendations on material selections for different projects.
• Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of materials.
• Maintain accurate records of all projects and repairs.
• Implement innovative techniques to enhance production efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction or equivalent
• Trade qualification in shipbuilding

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the boat construction industry

Technical Skills

• Timber Construction
• Mechanical Systems Installation

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Time Management

Certifications

• Marine Safety Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Electronics: Hands-on experience with boat electronics and wiring systems.
• Fiberglass Repair Techniques: Knowledge of advanced fiberglass repair techniques.
