Job Description

As a Christmas Tree Grader, you will assess and grade trees for quality based on specific industry standards. This role demands a keen eye for detail, knowledge of various tree species, and the ability to ensure that only the best trees make it to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Grade and assess the quality of Christmas trees, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Manage inventory of graded trees and report any discrepancies.
  • Work with a team to streamline the grading process.
  • Monitor for pest infestations and report as necessary.
  • Engage with customers to answer questions about tree quality.
  • Help in logistical operations during peak seasons.
  • Conduct daily quality checks during grading shifts.
  • Ensure that grading equipment is well-maintained and operational.
  • Develop a keen understanding of various species of trees.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss quality and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

Education
  • Post-secondary education in Agriculture or Horticulture is preferred
Experience
  • Experience operating machinery such as forklifts and chainsaws is advantageous.
