Job Description

As a Psychiatric Aide (Behavioral Health Assistant), you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health and substance abuse disorders. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and implement treatment plans. Your work will involve providing emotional support, conducting group therapy sessions, and maintaining accurate records of patient progress.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in their daily living activities, offering assistance with personal care.
  • Monitor behavioral changes and report significant findings to the supervisor.
  • Engage in therapeutic activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis management.
  • Document patient progress and ensure compliance with care plans.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers.
  • Facilitate family meetings and provide information on resources.
  • Participate in team meetings to review patient cases.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Mental Health or related qualifications
Experience
  • Experience in a psychiatric or rehabilitation setting is advantageous
