Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Wagon Person to join our team at our Melbourne facility. You will oversee the maintenance and operation of our wagon fleet, ensuring that cargo is loaded and unloaded safely and efficiently. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, as well as close coordination with other team members to ensure timely operations. Your responsibilities will include inspections of wagons, operating loading equipment, and maintaining accurate cargo records.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-operational checks on loading and unloading equipment.
  • Facilitate communication with dispatch to coordinate cargo movements.
  • Document any discrepancies or damages encountered during operations.
  • Uphold standards for cleanliness and orderliness in the work area.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to optimise cargo handling and delivery schedules.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Trade qualifications in logistics or transport are a plus
Experience
  • Experience with hazardous materials handling is advantageous.
