Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Railroad Brake, Signal, and Switch Operator to oversee safe switch operations in our railway network. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth running of trains, requiring strong attention to detail and adherence to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the operation of switch systems and ensure adherence to safety practices.
• Manage the maintenance schedules for switch systems.
• Liaise with engineering teams to report and resolve switch-related issues.
• Conduct safety audits of switching operations.
• Maintain records of work done on switch systems.
• Provide training and guidance to junior operators.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system failures.
• Participate in emergency drills and safety training sessions.
• Ensure all equipment is compliant with safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with train crews regarding switch operations.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certificate in Railway Operations or similar training preferred

Experience

• Experience with switch systems in a high-pressure environment is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Experience with railway switching systems

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in training and supervising other employees: Experience mentoring junior operators in switch operations and safety protocols.
• Experience with switch system upgrades: Hands-on experience with modernizing and upgrading switch systems for efficiency.
