Dock Superintendent

Job Description

The Dock Superintendent will oversee the daily operation of the dock, ensuring that all loading and unloading activities are carried out efficiently and safely. Key responsibilities include managing dock personnel, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards, and coordinating interdepartmental communication for the timely delivery of goods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce operational procedures and policies pertaining to dock operations.
• Train staff on safety protocols and operational procedures.
• Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in budget management and cost control initiatives.
• Monitor dock activities to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Facilitate effective communication within the dock team.
• Evaluate performance metrics and suggest improvements.
• Lead weekly operational meetings to assess dock performance.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred

• Proven track record of successful dock management
