Animal Caretaker

Job Description

We are looking for compassionate and hardworking Animal Caretakers to join our team at the Humane Animal Society. You will be responsible for the welfare of our dogs, ensuring they receive adequate care, exercise, and social interaction. The ideal candidate has a passion for animal welfare and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of our four-legged friends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care for dogs by feeding and cleaning.
• Support health checks and follow up on any medical needs.
• Interact positively with dogs to enhance their socialization.
• Assist in the planning and execution of adoption events.
• Keep records up to date regarding animal care activities.
• Work collaboratively with the animal care team to improve processes.
• Maintain safety standards and adhere to organizational policies.
• Help train volunteers and new staff in best care practices.
• Participate in outreach programs to promote the organization.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant qualifications or certifications in animal care

Experience

• Experience with animal behavioral issues is a plus

Technical Skills

• Animal behavior observation
• Record keeping

Certifications

• Animal Welfare certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Additional qualifications in animal care or behavior: Certificates or courses related to animal behavior management.
