Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Quill Stripper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for removing quills from various bird species, ensuring their preservation and quality for further use in crafting industries. You will work closely with a team that values precision and dedication to high-quality standards, contributing to the overall aesthetic and functional quality of our products.

Responsibilities

• Carefully remove quills from selected bird species, focusing on preservation.
• Sort and categorise quills to enhance processing efficiency.
• Package materials properly for long-term storage.
• Participate in team activities aimed at improving production processes.
• Observe and report any quality issues with the quills.
• Train new staff in proper quill handling procedures.
• Assist with shipping and labelling of finished products.
• Adhere strictly to safety regulations during the quill extraction process.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Animal Handling or related field

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Quill extraction techniques
• Inventory management

Certifications

• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification in Craft Techniques: Additional qualifications in crafting or artistic techniques.
