Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Placing Judge to join our team and ensure fairness in equestrian competitions. You will evaluate horse and rider performances based on a predetermined set of criteria, ranking them accurately to maintain the integrity of our events.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and rank equestrian performances with precision and clarity.
  • Provide feedback and support to riders to improve their skills.
  • Work alongside fellow judges to ensure a smooth judging process.
  • Participate in pre-competition briefings and post-event reviews.
  • Keep updated on changes in judging criteria and regulations.
  • Facilitate communication between competitors, coaches, and event officials.
  • Report any discrepancies in performances or judging criteria to the Chief Judge.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification from a recognised equestrian sports organisation is a plus
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in equestrian sports, preferably as a rider or trainer.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of equestrian sports
  • Judging accuracy
Soft Skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication skills
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience judging national competitions: Experience working at national-level competitions is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with various equestrian disciplines: Knowledge of disciplines such as dressage, show jumping, and eventing.
