Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Library Associate to join our team. This role involves assisting patrons in navigating library resources, managing materials, and ensuring efficient library operations. Ideal candidates will have a strong customer service background and a passion for fostering a love of reading.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all library users
  • Assist in the management of public access computers and equipment
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance service quality
  • Conduct library tours and workshops for patrons
  • Collaborate with a team to implement community outreach initiatives
  • Support special events and programs by organizing materials
  • Gather feedback from patrons to improve library services

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in library or information science (desirable)
Experience
  • Experience with library cataloging and classification systems is an advantage.
