Environmental Compliance Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Compliance Inspector, also known as the City Sanitarian, to ensure adherence to environmental health regulations across public facilities. This role involves inspections, investigations, and providing educational support to the community.

Responsibilities

• Inspect public facilities, such as cafes and amenities, ensuring they meet health regulations.
• Respond to community complaints regarding environmental health issues.
• Educate stakeholders about best health practices and standards.
• Issue necessary permits and licenses in alignment with legislation.
• Liaise with governmental agencies to ensure effective health management.
• Document and maintain accurate records of inspections and assessments.
• Assess risks and develop strategies to mitigate health hazards.
• Support the creation of policies to enhance public health initiatives.
• Research and apply best practices in environmental health.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
• Master's degree in Public Health is a plus

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a regulatory environment
