Job Description

As a Forensic Science Technician, you will be responsible for analysing biological and non-biological samples to detect toxic substances. Your expertise will be essential in legal investigations, providing vital insights and expert testimony that influence court proceedings. You will play a crucial role in ensuring justice is served, combining scientific knowledge with practical application in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct toxicological analyses on both biological and non-biological samples.
  • Develop new methodologies for sample testing and analysis.
  • Present findings to law enforcement and legal teams clearly and concisely.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs to maintain laboratory standards.
  • Attend relevant training and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Work closely with forensic chemists and other specialists on complex cases.
  • Document findings meticulously to support ongoing investigations.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated correctly.
  • Provide feedback for process improvements in the forensic laboratory.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications in toxicology are an advantage
Experience
  • 3+ years in forensic toxicology laboratories
