Job Description

As a Mental Health and Substance Abuse Social Worker, you will provide vital support and counseling to clients dealing with various mental health challenges and substance use issues. This role requires a compassionate approach to help individuals navigate their recovery journey, develop coping strategies, and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health and substance use histories.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans to address individual client needs.
  • Lead therapy sessions and provide psychoeducation on mental health and addiction recovery.
  • Monitor and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Conduct crisis intervention when necessary to ensure client safety.
  • Hold regular meetings with multidisciplinary teams to discuss client care.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about mental health issues.
  • Provide support in navigating the healthcare system and accessing resources.
  • Document all interactions and updates in clients' files promptly.
  • Collaborate with family members to facilitate understanding and support for clients.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Master’s degree preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in counseling or therapy, ideally in mental health or substance abuse settings.
