Lighting Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Stage Lighting Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be tasked with ensuring that lighting systems are perfect for every performance, working alongside creative teams to bring imaginative concepts to life through light. Responsibilities

• Create and revise lighting designs based on production needs.
• Program and operate digital lighting consoles for performances.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of lighting equipment.
• Work alongside the Lighting Designer to bring visions to life.
• Document lighting setups and settings for future reference.
• Assist with special effects lighting and automation.
• Ensure power and safety checks are completed for all equipment.
• Manage inventory of lighting supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate with other departments for seamless operation.
• Develop emergency lighting plans for events.
• Provide feedback on equipment performance and improvements.
• Engage in continuous learning of emerging lighting technologies.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III or higher in Live Production, Theatre and Events (Lighting)

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in stage lighting

Technical Skills

• DMX Control Software (e.g., GrandMA, Hog)
• Rigging and Electrical Work
• Lighting Design Software (e.g., AutoCAD)
• LED and Automated Lighting Systems
• Technical Troubleshooting

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Team Collaboration
• Time Management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Automated Lighting Systems: Familiarity with state-of-the-art automated lighting technologies.
