Freight Coordinator

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a meticulous Freight Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Wodonga. In this role, you will oversee the logistics of freight movements, managing shipping schedules, and ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational skills and a keen eye for detail, capable of liaising effectively with drivers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with freight carriers.
• Resolve discrepancies in shipping and transport documentation.
• Provide support to the logistics manager on special projects.
• Assist in budgeting for freight expenditures.
• Implement best practices in freight coordination.
• Prepare reports on freight activities for management review.
• Participate in training for new logistics staff.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in freight coordination or logistics management

Technical Skills

• Freight Forwarding Software
• Data Analysis Tools

• Negotiation
• Problem-Solving

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Hazardous Materials Shipping: Experience in shipping hazardous materials and understanding relevant regulations.
• Proficiency in SAP or ERP Systems: Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems for supply chain management.
