First Mate

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated First Mate with a strong maritime background to support our Captain in the daily operations of our vessel. This role requires effective management of crew activities and meticulous attention to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the deck crew in daily operations and ensure all tasks are completed on time.
• Perform routine checks on vessel systems and report any issues to the Captain.
• Assist in emergency drills and safety training for all crew members.
• Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.
• Maintain an organized and safe working environment on deck.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate in Maritime Operations

Experience

• Experience on vessels greater than 24 metres in length preferred.

Certifications

• Advanced Fire Fighting Certification
• Marine Radio Operator's License

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience on vessels over 24 metres in length: Extensive operational experience on larger commercial vessels.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations: Understanding of marine environmental policies and regulations.
