Job Description

The Housing Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Housing Manager to ensure the provision of safe, secure, and affordable housing for low-income households. This position involves administrative support, tenant communication, and coordination with various stakeholders to address the housing needs of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor rental payments and assist with arrears management.
  • Maintain open communication with tenants about their needs.
  • Assist in promoting housing programs within the community.
  • Document all tenant interactions and outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with the housing team and management.
  • Assist with occupational health and safety compliance.
  • Help manage housing budgets and maintain financial records.
  • Support fundraising efforts and grant applications.
  • Attend community events to promote housing services.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Community Services or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in tenancy management would be advantageous.
Experience
  • Experience working with low-income households and vulnerable populations is preferred.
