Job Description

As an Animal Control Worker, you will be tasked with responding to calls regarding animal welfare and safety. Your role will involve conducting investigations into animal abuse and neglect, working closely with shelters to ensure proper animal care.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate reports of animal cruelty and neglect.
  • Educate the community about responsible pet ownership.
  • Rescue and transport animals to shelters and veterinary clinics.
  • Conduct inspections of animal facilities.
  • Assist with disaster response and emergency animal care.
  • Provide expert testimony in court cases involving animal cruelty.
  • Engage in public outreach to raise awareness about animal welfare.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and responses.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Zoology, or related field
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in animal welfare enforcement
Technical Skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of animal welfare laws
  • Ability to handle animals safely
Soft Skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
Certifications
  • Certification from the National Animal Control Association (NACA)
Languages
  • English: Fluent
