Forest and Conservation Technicians

Job Description

As a Forest and Conservation Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining forest health and sustainability. Ideal candidates should have experience in timber management, stakeholder engagement, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing sustainable forest management plans.
• Evaluate the environmental impact of harvesting activities.
• Participate in training programs for staff and stakeholders.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Implement initiatives for biodiversity conservation.
• Work with local councils on forest management strategies.
• Support the certification processes such as FSC or PEFC.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field
• Master’s degree is an advantage or relevant experience

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in forestry or conservation roles preferred
