We are seeking a Blast Furnace Supervisor to manage the operation and maintenance of our blast furnace in Port Kembla. The successful candidate will ensure optimal performance and safety while leading a team of operators and technicians. You will play a crucial role in improving productivity and implementing best practices. This position requires not only technical knowledge but also exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in daily operations and set priorities for blast furnace production.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure all safety protocols are being followed.
• Implement training programs for staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Work closely with engineering departments to improve furnace design and operation.
• Generate detailed reports on production efficiency and suggest improvements.
• Participate in strategic planning for production capacity and scheduling.

Requirements

Education

• Trade qualifications in metallurgy or similar field
• Relevant engineering qualifications recommended

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role within blast furnace operations
