We are seeking a Surveying and Mapping Technician who will play a crucial role in the collection and analysis of spatial data. In this role, you will use GIS software to create and maintain accurate maps, ensuring high standards of data quality.

Job Responsibilities
  • Utilize GIS software to create and update digital maps and databases.
  • Coordinate with field teams to collect accurate data using GPS devices.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement quality control procedures for data collection.
  • Train colleagues on the effective use of GIS tooling.
  • Conduct data analysis to produce actionable insights.
  • Document data sources and methods for transparency.
  • Assist in GIS-related project management.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental discussions regarding mapping solutions.
  • Mentor junior technicians and interns.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, geomatics, geography, or a related field
  • Certification in GIS software and tools is advantageous
  • GIS Software (ArcGIS, QGIS) Proficient in using GIS software for mapping and spatial analysis.
  • GPS Technology Experience with GPS receivers and data collection methodologies.
  • Data Analysis Skilled in analyzing data to identify spatial patterns.
  • Problem-solving Strong problem-solving skills to tackle complex data issues.
  • Team Collaboration Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating in teams.
  • Attention to Detail High attention to detail for maintaining data integrity.

  • Familiarity with Programming Languages: Knowledge of Python and R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience in Remote Sensing: Hands-on experience with remote sensing data collection and interpretation.
