Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough evaluations and screenings to identify substance abuse issues.

  • Lead support groups, encouraging discussion and interaction among participants.
  • Track clients' progress and document significant changes and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop holistic treatment strategies.
  • Educate clients about coping strategies, relapse prevention, and community resources.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to all ethical practices in counseling.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Develop workshops or informational sessions on addiction and recovery topics for clients and families.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science or related field
  • Master's degree in a relevant field preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of direct experience in addiction counseling preferred.
