As a Surveying and Mapping Technician, you will play a crucial role in processing and analyzing topographic data to produce accurate and detailed maps. You will utilise cutting-edge software and tools in a collaborative environment to ensure precision and efficiency in our projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Process and analyse topographic data using specialized GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Create and update detailed maps and charts based on geographic information.
  • Perform calculations to determine coordinates, elevations, and distances accurately.
  • Maintain and manage topographic databases to ensure data reliability.
  • Collaborate effectively with surveyors, engineers, and other professionals to verify data accuracy.
  • Identify and rectify errors within topographic datasets.
  • Develop quality control procedures for all geospatial computations.
  • Stay informed on advancements in geospatial technology and methodologies.
  • Provide technical support to team members and clients as needed.
  • Prepare detailed reports and visualizations based on processed data.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Science, Cartography, Geography or a related field
  • GIS Software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) Advanced proficiency in GIS applications for mapping.
  • Remote Sensing Techniques Knowledgeable in remote sensing methods for data collection.
  • Programming Languages (Python, R) Familiar with programming for data processing.
  • Attention to Detail Highly detail-oriented and able to identify discrepancies.
  • Problem-solving Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and resolving data issues.
  • Communication Skills Able to communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders.
  • Professional certification in GIS
  • English (Fluent)
Advantageous
  • Experience with Lidar and photogrammetry technologies: Hands-on experience with data collection and processing techniques.
  • Knowledge of land surveying principles: Background in land surveying will give you a competitive edge.
