Job Description

As a Surveying and Mapping Technician, you will play a crucial role in processing and analyzing topographic data to produce accurate and detailed maps. You will utilise cutting-edge software and tools in a collaborative environment to ensure precision and efficiency in our projects.

Responsibilities

• Utilise GIS tools to process and interpret geographic data.
• Ensure the accuracy of topographic maps and charts through rigorous analysis.
• Maintain database integrity by regularly updating topographic information.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance the quality of mapping projects.
• Train and guide junior team members on best practices in geospatial technology.
• Conduct field data collection as necessary to support mapping efforts.
• Identify trends in geographic data to inform project development.
• Assist in the design of geospatial studies and surveys.
• Prepare and present findings to stakeholders or team leaders.
• Implement improvements based on feedback to optimize data processing efforts.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Science, Cartography, Geography or a related field

Experience

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in topographic data processing and analysis

Technical Skills

• GIS Software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
• Remote Sensing Techniques
• Programming Languages (Python, R)
