Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Port Macquarie. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a range of medical conditions in animals, while also providing guidance to pet owners on their pets' health and wellbeing. The ideal applicant has experience in surgical procedures and is committed to delivering the highest standard of animal care.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed diagnostics and treatment for a range of animal illnesses and injuries.
• Carry out surgical interventions and ensure effective recovery protocols.
• Develop comprehensive treatment plans and educate pet owners on preventive healthcare.
• Manage the administration of anaesthesia and monitor vital signs during surgeries.
• Engage in client consultations to discuss health concerns regarding their pets.
• Provide guidance to junior veterinary staff as needed.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development initiatives.
• Contribute to community outreach programs focused on animal welfare.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine
• Specialised training in surgery is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years in a veterinary practice with a focus on surgical procedures

• Cert IV Veterinary Nursing
