Layout Fabricator

Job Description

The Layout Fabricator will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of metal parts and structures using blueprints, 3D models and other technical specifications. We are seeking a skilled worker with attention to detail and a strong understanding of fabrication processes to join our dynamic engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse technical drawings to produce metal components.
• Operate CNC machinery and other fabrication equipment for precision work.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on all fabrication machinery.
• Liaise with production teams to meet project deadlines.
• Support quality assurance measures by completing necessary documentation.
• Assist in the testing and evaluation of new fabrication techniques.
• Implement best practices for waste reduction and efficiency in fabrication processes.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III or IV in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker/Welder) or equivalent.
• Current Australian Welding Certification (AS1796 or equivalent)

Experience

• A minimum of 3 years experience in metal fabrication and welding is highly desirable.

Advantageous

• Experience with Stainless Steel and Aluminium: Previous experience working with various metals including stainless steel and aluminium.
• Ability to Train Others: Experience in mentoring and training junior fabricators is a plus.
