Environmental Science and Protection Technician (Soil Analyst)

Job Description

We are seeking a Soil Analyst to play a vital role in our environmental consulting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in soil science, responsible for analyzing soil samples to derive insights and recommend effective management practices for agriculture and conservation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement soil sampling protocols and testing programmes.
• Perform soil chemical and physical property analyses using advanced laboratory methods.
• Interpret data and provide actionable recommendations to clients.
• Ensure the accurate recording and reporting of test results.
• Work alongside homestead managers to assess and improve their soil management techniques.
• Keep up-to-date with developments in sustainable soil management practices.
• Conduct workshops to educate clients on soil health and management.
• Utilise GIS software to map soil characteristics and guide soil management decisions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on environmental projects.
• Provide assistance in project proposals and grant applications related to soil research.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or related field

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in soil management and agronomy preferred
