Job Description

As a Veterinary Technologist or Technician, you will be integral to the support of animal care in various settings including veterinary clinics, research labs, and animal shelters. You will monitor animal health, administer medications, and collaborate with veterinarians to ensure the best care possible for our animal patients.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily health monitoring of all animals.
  • Administer vaccinations and treatments as directed.
  • Perform routine lab tests and prepare specimens.
  • Assist in surgeries and post-operative care.
  • Train new staff on animal care protocols.
  • Maintain inventory of veterinary supplies.
  • Develop care plans in collaboration with the veterinary team.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Assist in public education about animal welfare.
  • Document all findings and observations accurately.

Requirements

Education
  • Certificate in Animal Care or related field
  • First Aid/CPR certification recommended
Experience
  • Experience in veterinary clinics or animal shelters is advantageous
