Agricultural Technician

Job Description

The Agricultural Technician will develop and deliver extension activities supporting the agriculture industry. This role involves direct engagement with farmers, researchers, and stakeholders to provide essential education and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution of extension services across agricultural sectors.
• Collect and analyze data related to agricultural practices and outcomes.
• Design outreach materials and presentations for educational activities.
• Work alongside research teams to develop impactful extension programs.
• Provide hands-on support during events and field days for local farmers.
• Conduct outreach and community engagement to increase awareness of agricultural advancements.
• Organize and facilitate training workshops for smallholder farmers.
• Support the implementation of sustainable farming practices through education.
• Develop tailored resources and materials for various target audiences.
• Contribute to the organization’s communications strategy related to agriculture.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field
• Master's degree in a related field is highly advantageous

Experience

• Experience in community engagement and program delivery is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Familiarity with GIS Software

• Certificate in Agribusiness Management

Languages

• English: Fluent
