Job Description

As an Insurance Verification Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients have adequate insurance coverage prior to receiving medical services. This position requires effective communication with healthcare professionals and insurance providers to resolve any issues related to patient coverage. You'll maintain accurate records and collaborate with billing specialists to ensure smooth processing.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for clients.
• Review insurance policies and communicate coverage information to clients.
• Contact insurance providers to obtain necessary information.
• Work closely with the Claims department to ensure claims are processed accurately and timely.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
• Draft reports summarising insurance verification activities for management.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in patient files and insurance records.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field.

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in insurance verification or related healthcare field.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with insurance programs like Medicare and Medicaid

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software: Familiarity with using EMR systems like Epic or Cerner.
