Job Description

As a Registered Nurse specialised in flight nursing, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality medical care during air transport. This position requires expert knowledge of emergency and critical care nursing, as well as strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals on board. You will be responsible for monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and providing immediate medical assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Utilise flight navigation systems to ensure patient safety during transfers.
  • Support patient and family emotional needs during the transfer process.
  • Develop and implement care plans for patients requiring ongoing treatment.
  • Work on continuous improvement of protocols regarding in-flight medical policies.

Requirements

Education
  • Registered Nurse qualification in Australia
  • Specialised training in critical care or emergency nursing
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in emergency medical services or aeromedical retrieval.
